PepsiCo Drives Health Along a Personalized Road, 2009

PepsiCo's global wellness program, HealthRoads, was designed to reinforce the organization's commitment to healthier lifestyles. PepsiCo believes that the key to creating and sustaining a health and wellness culture is to bring it to life at the local level. HealthRoads is customized to match local interests and needs, making wellness more relevant to each individual. This local approach, dubbed the Worksite Wellness Program, has resulted in better outcomes and greater employee engagement.




MyHealth: Road Map to Healthy Living, UPMC and UPMC Health Plan, 2009

UPMC's MyHealth program is a comprehensive set of programs designed to address the cost challenges of health care, absenteeism and productivity loss through engagement of the workforce. UPMC's 'Take a Healthy Step' campaign includes an annual MyHealth Questionnaire HRA, a biometric screening, and a set of other "healthy steps" that employees can select.




Well at Dell: Creating a Campus Culture of Employee Health, 2009

Well at Dell includes on-site fitness facilities at the Round Rock headquarters, in Austin and in Tennessee, as well as discounts at local gyms in all other U.S. locations that lack on-site fitness facilities; a weight maintenance program; an on-site cafeteria offering healthy choices; online health action programs for low-risk employees; and telephonic health coaching for employees designated as "high risk." A major component of Well at Dell is personalized health coaching programs based on health risk status for smoking cessation, diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, weight management, back pain, pregnancy and stress management.




IBM's Children's Health Rebate: Making Wellness a Family Enterprise, 2009

IBM's Children's Health rebate is a unique, action-oriented program designed to help parents support children in maintaining healthy weight. Over a twelve-week period, the program targets: adequate physical activity; consistent healthy eating; appropriate screen time; and positive parental role modeling.




HealthyQuest: Helping Employees Find Their Way to Healthy Living, Quest Diagnostics, 2009

The HealthyQuest initiative reflects Quest Diagnostics' ongoing commitment to improving the health of its employees. The program specifically focuses on improving employee awareness of personal health risk factors and suggested steps to mitigate those risks. HealthyQuest health promotion teams focus on meeting specific goals, such as achieve high levels of participation in the company's health risk assessment; support or initiate efforts to improve physical fitness, weight, and stress management; and raise employee compliance with regular cancer screening.

FPL's "The Back in Action Healthy Back Challenge," was designed to educate office and field workers on the importance of remaining in good musculoskeletal health, while simultaneously avoiding strain and sprain injuries.




Health Coach: The Driving Force in Medtronic's Total Health Program

Medtronic's comprehensive "Total Health" program makes the health coach the center of the program. On the basis of an annual health risk questionnaire and claims data, coaches identify at-risk employees and invite them to join a lifestyle management or a disease management coaching program.




OxyWellness: Creating Health Programs from the Ground Up

At Occidental Petroleum Corporation, OxyWellness site-based health programs help all employees deal with preventable illness, improve productivity and reduce company health care costs.
