James A. Curcio
Senior Consultant, Council on Employee Health and Productivity

Jim currently serves as the Senior Consultant for Health, Productivity and Disability within the National Business Group on Health (the Business Group). He staffs the very active Council on Employee Health and Productivity. Jim helps direct the Council's strategy for their comprehensive project to develop a uniform, standardized metrics and reporting system for health, productivity and disability management for all employers; and, the Council's educational workshop initiatives.

Jim joined the Business Group from Sedgwick Claims Management Services (CMS), Inc., with an extensive background in Human Resources and Integrated Disability Management (IDM). During his tenure with Sedgwick, he served as their IDM practice leader, as the operations and program manager of a large dedicated IDM Unit, and as a resource in working with large disability clients.

Prior to Sedgwick CMS, Jim led various cross-functional risk management, IDM, and information systems projects for Ascension Health, the nation's largest non-profit healthcare organization. Jim has also held similar leadership roles in the Risk Management & Human Resource operations of two Fortune 250 manufacturing organizations. His work there specifically focused on developing proactive and cost efficient initiatives in the areas of IDM, Benefits Management, Workers' Compensation, Return to Work, and implementation of various related information systems.

Overall, programs that Jim has designed and implemented for employers have won acclaim and recognition by "Business & Health" Magazine; BNA's Workers' Compensation Report; California's Workers' Comp Advisor; Ohio's Workers' Comp Advisor; and, OSHA's Region VIII as Outstanding and "Best in Class" among Colorado employers.

Jim has served as a member of the following organizations: Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI), Company Liaison, Executive Board Member; Disability Management Employers Coalition (DMEC), Advisory Board Member; Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS); Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Company Liaison.

Jim has a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in Human Resources and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), both from the University of Colorado.
